Bring friends young and old to the Shieling for our first family event of the year. Nestled deep in the beautiful highland landscape, days will be filled with outdoor adventure, foraging, games, craft, fire, story and song.
Activities will be primarily aimed at 5-12 year age group, with younger & older children welcome. Parents and guardians will be an active part of the camp.

10.30-11: Arrival and welcome

13.30-4pm: 'Call of the Cuckoo' game and nature connection (Lead by Affric Highland)
4pm-5pm: Chill time, hot chocolate, Story
5.30-6.30pm: (Optional) Dinner
6.30-8: Firetime & story (for anyone staying over)
Venue
The Shieling site is nestled in glen Strathfarrar, through which the river Farrar runs.
Surrounded by mountain and birch, this glen feels wild and remote yet is only 40 minutes drive West of Inverness.
Activities will take place both out on the land and in purpose built workshop spaces. Camping and cabin options available.
Accommodation Can be provided
Accommodation is camping, with cabin upgrades upon enquiry.
Some camping gear may be provided if arranged in advance (if travelling form overseas etc).
Food
Dinner and breakfast will be provided, participants supply their own lunch.
Local meat will be a part of the menu, with vegetarian options available.
Facilitators
This camp will be facilitated by experienced outdoor youth workers, crafters and the core team of the Shieling Collective, with support form Affric Highlands.
