We will also have multiple day events both on -site and in other locations which dates will be added upon confirmation.
Family Camp
Welcoming local families from the Highlands or further afield to join us in a fun & creative weekend during the Easter holidays. Our carefully curated programme of story, song, craft/culture, & land-based activities is designed with families in mind, welcoming children of all ages to join us for this 2 day event at the Shieling!
Craft & Culture Day
Join us for a day at the Shieling, as we open our season of events, we welcome you to come along for tasters of traditional crafts & cultural activities, from wool spinning, to willow weaving, fire-side storytelling, plant ID and more!
Shieling Immersion
An invitation for those of the Diaspora (those of Scottish heritage born abroad) to have an immersive cultural experience in Scotland guided by a team of highly experienced facilitators.
Activities Include:

Craft and Culture Camp
Calling all craft & culture-lovers & learners, from experienced to complete beginner -
We welcome you to a weekend at the Shieling, to immerse in activities such as wool spinning & craft, storytelling, Gaelic song, Highlander survival skills, butter churning, hide-tanning and more!
Hosted by the Shieling Collective in collaboration with local facilitators & artists.
Healing Across Waters
Deep Roots ALBA & Sli na Sinsear EIRE collaborate on a Highland decolonial immersion, welcoming Gaels of Irish & Scottish descent back onto their ancestral homelands through a variety of workshops, ceremonies & craic! Together we explore what it means to restore our cultural identity, heal from severance and settler identities for those born and living on the colonies across the globe.
Salmon of Wisdom
Join us for a deep-dive into the myth of the Salmon of Knowledge, a keystone story in both Irish & Scottish lore ~ Journeying together for 5 nights in our Highland retreat at the Shieling, on the banks of the River Farrar.
We explore the practical, the poetic, spiritual & ecological aspects of this story, the salmon and their eco-systems.
Join Aoife, Dougie & Michael as we swim upstream to find our way home in honour of this incredible keystone species which in these times is not in the best of health.
